Creating an Account

  1. Before you can post your low water crossing locations, you need to create an account. To do so, visit http://www.lowwater.org/blog/wp-login.php?action=register or click “Register” under the Menu on the right.
  2. Enter the login name you would like and your email address. Your email address WILL NOT be shown on the screen, but we will use it to send you your temporary password. Your login name WILL be shown, so for privacy reasons, PLEASE DO NOT USE YOUR LAST NAME.


You can also use this page to resend your password if you lose it.

 

Your password will be emailed to you. Once you have it, you can login!

 

Entering in a low water crossing entry

 

  1. After you login for the first time, you’ll be taken to the Dashboard. From here, you can click on Posts → Add Post to enter data. You can also get to the Dashboard from this link: http://www.lowwater.org/blog/wp-admin/

  1. In the top (title) box, enter in the address or intersection and town that you will enter. This will be the title of your entry.
  2. Now in the large box, enter a DESCRIPTION of the location and the REASONS why you think it’s a low water crossing.

  1. In the map at the bottom of the page, use the zoom function to zoom in on the location you want to pick. You can then click on the map to choose that location. Only your last click will be used.
  2. Next, select your Category from the Category box. Your category will be your assigned team. Be sure to pick your category or your team will not get points for your selection!

3. Finally, when you are finished, click “Publish”.

4. After you click “Publish”,you can click “View Post” to be taken to a page that shows what your entry looks like to the world. You can click “Edit” at this point if you want to make any changes.

 

Commenting on Page Entries

 

  1. To comment on an entry (either to agree with it or disagree and explain why), you can click on the page. At the bottom is a comment box. Type in your reason for agreeing or disagreeing and click “Submit Comment”. You must be logged in to comment.

Inserting an Image

 

  1. You can insert an image into your entry. To do so, go to the Dashboard (Menu → Site Admin) and select the Post you want to edit.
  2. Now select to “Add an image”

3. You can change the size and settings of your image, but likely you just need to “Insert into Post”.

4. Click “Update” to update your post.
